Custom Font Wedding Stationery for a Noosa Wedding
3 October 2026 · By SykesPrint

The brief
A Noosa couple wanted every printed detail at their wedding to feel personal, not off-the-shelf. The bride had a custom font made for the occasion, and asked us to design and print the full stationery suite around it: place cards, table numbers and menus.
When one typeface is used for every piece, the whole table feels connected. Guests read a menu, find their seat and spot their table number, and it all looks like it came from the same hand.

Menus that read like handwriting
The mains menu is set entirely in the custom font, in capitals, with each dish given room to breathe and dietary notes such as (GF) and (DF) shown after the dishes they apply to. A fine black keyline runs around the edge of the card, and the heading sits neatly in the top corner.
At the foot of the card is a small coastal illustration of dunes, grasses, waves and clouds, a quiet nod to the beachside setting. Beneath it, a line reads "handwriting (and any spelling mistakes) by Henry", which tells guests whose hand the lettering came from, and gives the card a lot of personality.
The cards are printed in black ink on a textured white card, which gives the lettering a soft, tactile feel in the hand and photographs beautifully on the plate.

A kids' menu with personality
The kids' menu is where the custom font really shines. Instead of plain dish names, each meal is introduced with something a child might actually say: "I don't know" for the calamari and chips, "I want to swim" for the battered flathead, "I want my phone" for the grilled salmon, "I love you mum" for the spaghetti bolognese, and "I want Maccas" for the chicken slider.
It is a small touch that gets a smile from parents, and it keeps the kids' menu in the same visual world as the adults' menu.

Place cards and table numbers
Each guest's name is set in the same lettering, on a flat card that sits on the plate and on a folded card that stands on the table. Table numbers were printed in the same font, so the seating details match the menus.
Guest names are the one thing on a wedding day that has to be spelled perfectly, so we proof every name with the couple before printing.

Thinking about a custom font for your wedding?
Start early. A custom font needs time to create before we can set your stationery, so build that into your timeline. Keep line lengths short and use capitals sparingly if your lettering is very decorative, so it stays easy to read at menu size.
Choose one or two other elements, such as a keyline border or a small illustration, and repeat them across every piece. And leave room for proofing: names, dishes and dietary notes should all be checked before anything is printed.
We design and print wedding stationery for couples across Noosa and the Sunshine Coast, and ship Australia wide. If you would like something personal like this for your wedding, get in touch.
