Mirror A-Frame Sign for a Cotton On Body Event in Byron Bay
3 October 2026 · By SykesPrint

The brief
A marketing event in Byron Bay for Cotton On Body needed an A-frame sign that people would actually stop for. The idea was simple and clever: put a short line on a mirror, so that anyone who walks past ends up in the sign.
The line was "worth a double take", and on a mirror it does exactly that.

How the sign works
The panel has a mirror finish and sits in a black frame with a chrome carry handle on top, so it is easy to move around an event. Black lettering is applied directly to the mirror: "worth a" in a clean, small sans-serif, "double take" in a flowing script, and the Cotton On Body mark at the foot of the sign.
Because the lettering is solid black against a bright reflective surface, it stays easy to read even while the reflection behind it changes with every passer-by.

Designing for a mirror
Keep the message short. A mirror is busy by nature, so a few words in a bold, simple style work better than a paragraph. Dark lettering gives the strongest contrast, and putting the main line around eye level means it is read first.
Think about where the sign will stand. The reflection changes with the sky, the buildings and the people around it, which is part of the fun, but it is worth checking how the sign looks outdoors before the event. Mirror surfaces also show fingerprints, so a microfibre cloth in the event kit is a good idea.
