Texture is part of the design
Linen board has a delicate woven pattern built into the paper. Colour sits on top of the texture, which gives printed text and logos a soft, slightly vintage character you cannot get from a smooth card.
Because the texture is the feature, we usually leave the surface uncovered so it can be seen and felt. Tell us if you would prefer a protective covering.
Designing for linen
Fine detail and very small text can soften on a textured surface, so we suggest bolder lines and a slightly larger type size than you would use on a smooth card. We will advise on your artwork before it goes to print.
